ANNAPOLIS, Md. - John Callaghan scored the Greyhounds' best individual finish at the CSCAA National Invitational on Friday night, taking ninth-place in the 100-yard breaststroke in the competition at the U.S. Naval Academy.
Callaghan swam a time of 54.61 seconds, touching the wall in the 'B' final with the fourth-best time in the event.
The men's 800-yard freestyle relay - Zachary Metzler, John Sakovich, John Venit and Austin Lee - recorded a 13th-place finish, swimming 7:09.68.
Loyola's men's 200-yard medley relay - Metzler, Venit, Richard Kogut and Sakovich - came in 16th with a time 1:37.68. The women's 200-yard medley relay team - Anne Hayburn, Emily Koegl, Grace Huckenpoehler and Megan Dickey - finished 25th in 1:47.66.
Hayburn and Huckenpoehler finished 42nd and 43rd in the 100-yard butterfly preliminaries with times of 57.40 and 57.67, respectively. In the men's version of the race, Metzler (50.68) and Kogut (53.22) were 31st and 37th.
Venit and Lee also competed in the 100-yard breaststroke preliminaries. Venit was 24th in 57.74, while Lee took 31st in 60.26.
Hayburn also competed in the women's 100-yard backstroke, finishing 33rd (57.37).
