PHILADELPHIA – Loyola University Maryland's women's varsity eight posted a dominating win on Saturday, leading the Greyhounds as they raced against La Salle University on the Schuylkill River.

"The WV8 had a great performance," said Head Coach
Megan Patrick. "They took the lead and control of the race from the start and kept walking further away throughout the entire 2,000 meters.They should take some real confidence from today."

After the women's varsity eight, the men's varsity four – Rubio, Trautwein, McGuigan, Morales and Gioia – took third in 7:16.18.
"The men's boats across the board got out of the blocks well and were strong through the first 600 meters, but struggled with the turn," Patrick said. "It's a very peculiar racecourse, and there is a strong home-court advantage. We will work on the psychology involved over the coming weeks so we can take ownership of it by Dad Vails."
