CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Patriot League released its men's and women's basketball Winter Academic Honor Roll recipients on Monday, with 27 Loyola University Maryland student-athletes recognized.
Men's basketball led the Patriot League with 14 overall selections, while all 13 members of the women's basketball program earned a spot on the honor roll. Men's basketball was also tied for first in the conference with three student-athletes recording 4.0 grade-point averages, as seniors
Chuck Champion,
Andrew Kostecka and
KaVaughn Scott all managed perfect GPA's in their final semester at Loyola.
On the women's side, senior
Stephanie Karcz, senior
Hannah Niles and junior
Isabella Therien all had 4.0 GPA's this spring. The women posted a collective team GPA of 3.75, while the men had an overall GPA of 3.51.
Student-athletes required a GPA of 3.20 or higher during the spring semester to achieve Academic Honor Roll status. For select student-athletes, their fall GPA was used as a substitute due to Loyola's implementation of a pass/no credit grading option for Spring 2020 courses following the COVID-19 outbreak.
