BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland's
Nathan Galloway was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a recognition based on his success scholastically and as a cross country runner.
Galloway, who will compete for the Greyhounds on Friday at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships in State College, Pennsylvania, is one of eight men's cross country student-athletes to be named to the team from around the League.
The senior is an honors English and global studies major with a minor in political science who carried a grade-point average of better than 3.9 into the fall semester at Loyola.
Galloway has interned in several capacities outside of the Evergreen campus, including at present time as an immigration legal services intern for the International Rescue Committee. He has also interned for the King Hussein Foundation, United States Congressional Candidate Jesse Colvin and United States Senator Chris Coons.
At Loyola, Galloway has served as co-chair of Student-Athletes for Social Justice (SA4SJ) and as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He has been a Jennings Scholar and is a member of several honor societies, including Sigma Tau Delta, Chi Alpha Sigma, Omicron Delta Kappa and Omicron Mu.
Galloway has been a leader on the cross country team, as well, finishing among the Greyhounds' top two men's runners throughout his career. This season, the four-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll finished second at the Patriot League Championships, was fourth at the Bison Opener, 35
th at the Navy Invitational, 69
th at the IC4A/ECAC Championships and 100
th at the Paul Short Run.
