ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The U.S. Naval Academy men's tennis team swept Loyola University Maryland, 7-0, on Wednesday in the Greyhounds' Patriot League regular-season finale.
Derrick Thompson beat
Skyler Gates, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 1 singles and Gavin Segraves topped
Edik Pribitkin, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 2.
Finn Garner was a 6-0, 6-3 winner against
Matt Cardano, 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 3 spot, and Jack McBride outlasted
George Cavo, 6-1, 7-5 at No. 4. Jake Fishkin defeated
Liam Rompere, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 5, and Sasha Panyan got past
Ryan Boland, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 6.
In the doubles matches, Panyan and Thompson beat Cavo and Gates, 6-1, at No. 1. Garner and Segraves used the same score to get past Cardano and Pribitkin at No. 2. Fishkin and McBride then became the third Navy pair to win by the 6-1 score against
Oliver Davey and Rompere at No. 3.
