Jillian Wilson and
Sydni Black scored four goals each, while
Lauren Spence made six saves to propel the Loyola University Maryland women's lacrosse team to a 19-3 win over Lehigh University in the Patriot League semifinals on Thursday afternoon.
With the win, the Greyhounds advance to the Patriot League Championships for the ninth-straight season (excluding 2020). They will host the winner of the Army vs Navy matchup at 2:00 PM. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
Chase Boyle scored early for the Greyhounds (16-2 overall), as she scored just 58 seconds into the game. Lehigh's Katia Carnevale responded with 13:13 left in the first quarter to tie things up at 1-1. The Greyhounds responded 23 seconds later, as
Anna Ruby scored her first of the game, on an assist from
Georgia Latch.
The Greyhounds led the rest of the way, as their offense was once again clicking early. At the end of the first quarter, the Greyhounds led 9-2, as
Jillian Wilson had a first quarter hat-trick.
The offense continued to click in the second quarter, as
Meg Hillman scored her second of the game at the 13:41 mark of the second quarter.
Sydni Black joined Wilson with a first half hat-trick, as Black scored her third goal with 1:09 remaining in the second quarter, as the Greyhounds took a 14-3 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Greyhounds controlled the pace, as they held the Mountain Hawks (12-6 overall), to just six shots in the second half. The Greyhounds defense also held the Mountain Hawks offense to without a goal in the second half, and overall held them without a goal for the final 35 minutes of the game.
Emily Wills (2 goals, 3 assists),
Sydni Black (4 goals, 1 assist), and
Georgia Latch (3 goals, 2 assists) led the way for the Greyhounds, scoring five points each.
Jillian Wilson scored four goals on the afternoon, while

Meg Hillman, and
Anna Ruby scored two goals each.
Lauren Spence talled six saves and a ground ball in the win.
Logan Olmstead had a team-high two caused turnovers.
The Greyhounds controlled the possession in the game, winning the draw control battle 17-8.
Jillian Wilson had eight draw controls on the afternoon, while
Chase Boyle had six draw controls.
Katia Carnevale led the team with two goals on the afternoon, while Gabby Schneider had a goal, and Emma Eberhardt had a goal.
