BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lily Mead swam three NCAA 'B' Cut times, set four school records, five Mangione Aquatic Center marks and nine H2ounds Invitational standards over the weekend, and the Loyola University Maryland graduate student was named the Patriot League Female Swimmer of the Week.
 
Mead earned H2ounds Invitational Female Swimmer of the Meet honors, as well, after a dominant performance at the event that was held on Loyola's campus Friday through Sunday.
 
She recorded NCAA 'B' Cut times in three different disciplines, the 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly and the 200 breaststroke, and she set school records in the 50 and 100 freestyles, the 100 backstroke and the 100 breaststroke.
 
Her times in individual events or leadoff legs of relays set meet records in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyles, the 50 and 100 backstrokes, the 50, 100 and 200 breaststrokes and the 100 butterfly. She was also a member of four relay teams – the 200 and 400 medleys and the 400 and 800 freestyles – that set meet records, while the medley relays also took down pool standards.
 
Mead herself recorded new pool marks in the 50 and 100 freestyles, the 50 backstroke, the 100 breaststroke and the 100 butterfly. Her time in the butterfly broke a five-year old pool record that had been held by two-time Olympian Phoebe Bacon.
 
Seven of Mead's times are also the fastest in the Patriot League this season in the event: 50 freestyle, 50 backstroke, 100 backstroke, 50 breaststroke, 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke and 100 butterfly. Her time in the 100 freestyle is No. 2 in the conference, and her 200 freestyle is fourth-fastest.
 
The award is the third of the 2024-25 season for Mead and the 10^th of her career.

She is scheduled to race next with a host of Greyhounds at the 2024 Toyota U.S. Open Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina.
