WASHINGTON, D.C. – Loyola University Maryland women's lacrosse dominated the stat sheet on Wednesday afternoon against Georgetown University to earn a 17-4 win over the host Hoyas at Cooper Field.
 
Three Greyhounds had hat tricks – Sydni Black (7 goals), Georgia Latch (4) and Chase Boyle (3) – and another Loyola player had four points – Anna Ruby (2 goals, 2 assists).
 
Latch and Boyle both scored the 100^th goals of their collegiate careers during the game; Black's seven goals were a career-high.
 
Loyola outshot the Hoyas, 36-20, putting 24 of the shots on goal. Georgetown, meanwhile, had 19 shots on goal, but the Greyhounds goalkeeping tandem of Lauren Spence and Amber Bustard made 14 saves while yielding just the five goals.
 
Spence stopped nine of 10 shots on goal in more than 40 minutes of action, and Bustard had a career-high five saves in 19-plus minutes.
 
The Greyhounds were also in control of the possession game, winning 14 of 23 draw controls with Boyle picking up nine and Black five. Loyola also had successful clears on 15 of 15 attempts and was charged with only seven turnovers.
 
Black scored the game's first two goals before Boyle tallied the 100^th of her career at the 7:57 point in the first quarter. Ruby spun to her right to get free and score at 6:59 before Georgetown got on the board two minutes later with a Kylie Hazen goal.
 
That would be the Hoyas' only score for more than 17 minutes as Loyola went on a 12-0 run.
 
Latch posted her first of the game and 100^th of her career with 1:26 to go in the first quarter, and Black had her hat trick just nine seconds later.
 
Regan Kielmeyer used a Black feed to put a ball in the net with 40 ticks left in the first, and Loyola finished the period up 7-0.
 
Boyle and Ruby went back-to-back with 13:05 and 10:31 in the second before Loyola scored its second goal from deep against a Hoyas ride.
 
A Riley Olmstead interception near the crease got Loyola possession deep in its defensive end. Spence sent a long clearing pass to Latch on the high right side. Latch shot from midfield, and a nearly 50-yard goal went in as the Georgetown goalie was out of the crease on a ride at 9:22.
 
Black then reeled off three-straight goals spanning the second and third quarters with her third coming 40 seconds into the second half to make it 13-1 Loyola.
 
Latch added her third of the game on Ruby's second assist with a goal at 12:04 in the third, and Boyle scored on a one-timer with Latch feeding from 'X' at 10:35. Latch grabbed her fourth goal with 9:29 to go in the third quarter before Leanna Tsahalis broke the 12-0 run with a Georgetown goal at 2:31.
 
The Hoyas scored two more after that before Black tallied her seventh of the day with 6:12 left in the game.
 
Loyola returns to Ridley Athletic Complex on Saturday, March 9, for a 12 noon game against Towson University that will kick off a Greyhounds doubleheader. Loyola's men will face Duke at 3:30 p.m. following the Loyola-Towson action.
