INDIANAPOLIS – Eight Loyola University Maryland athletic teams were in the top-10 percentile of their respective sports in the most recent multi-year tracking of the Academic Progress Rate (APR), the NCAA announced today.
The Greyhounds' men's cross country, men's golf, men's tennis, women's cross country, women's rowing, women's tennis, women's track and field and women's volleyball teams all ranked in the top-10 percent of their peers for the data that was released through the 2023-2024 academic year.
Loyola's women's tennis and women's track and field teams have been recognized in the top-10 percent of their sports every year since the tracking began.
This announcement by the NCAA is part of the overall Division I academic reform effort and is intended to highlight teams that demonstrate a commitment to academic progress and retention of student-athletes by achieving the top APRs within their respective sports.
Specifically, these teams posted multi-year APRs in the top-10 percent of all squads in each sport.
As a conference, the Patriot League continues to be a national leader in academic success and APR data. The Patriot League continues to lead the 32 NCAA Division I conference retention trends by conference. In the latest release of data by the NCAA, the League is second in APR and eligibility trends by conference.
