Baltimore -- Two current Loyola Unviersity Maryland women's lacrosse players and one alumni/assistant coach is set to compete with their national teams at the World Lacrosse Sixes Championships.
Current student-athletes
Mim Suares-Jury (Australia) and
Mechi O'Neil (Argentina) are joined by former Greyhound and current assistant coach
Georgia Latch (Austrailia).
O'Neil and Argentina will kick off the Pan-American Championships against Team USA on September 30, followed by a game against Puerto Rico on October 1st, before finishing off Pool Play against Brazil on October 3. October 4th will be the placement and medal games based off of seeding in their group.
Suares-Jury, Latch, and Australia will open Asia-Pacific Sixes Championships on October 5th against Singapore, with a second game against New Zealand on the 5th. They will follow i tup with a game against the Philippines on the 6th, before concluding pool play on the 7th against China. Their placement and medal games will be played on October 9th and 10th. All games are played in Oshawa, Canada.
The Championships serve as the first continental qualifier on the Olympic Pathway, as the top five teams will advance to the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championships in Colorado Springs, where teams can qualify directly from the 2027 WLSC to the LA28 Olympics.
