COVID-19 Media Protocols - Ridley Athletic Complex

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, media access to Loyola University Maryland athletics will be limited during the 2020-2021 season. Loyola will adhere to all state, local, NCAA, Patriot League and institution policies regarding COVID-19 protocols, causing an impact to seating capacity. Please note that these protocols may change during the season based on guidelines that evolve from the previously stated entities.

Safety Protocols
  • Both the City of Baltimore and Loyola University Maryland require face coverings to be worn in public spaces, and proper use of face masks will be required for all media members in attendance.
  • Media will be asked to enter and exit Loyola facilities through a designated area.
  • Temperature and symptom screening will be conducted prior to entrance to the venue.
  • There will not be food available for media members at games.

Media Entrance
  • Media will park in the main parking lot at Ridley Athletic Complex and enter through the designated gate at the main entrance.
  • Temperature check and symptom screening will be conducted at the gate.
  • Media with assigned press box seats will proceed directly to the press box via the entrance behind the grandstand area.
  • Photographers and videographers will remain in the grandstand area.
  • Ridley Athletic Complex will open 90 minutes prior to the game, and media are asked to arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to game time.

Media Seating
  • At this time, we are expecting to have a very limited number of media seats in the press box at Ridley Athletic Complex, potentially as few as three.
  • Loyola will do its best to accommodate media requests, but we cannot guarantee space. There may also be opportunity to cover the game from outside while seating in the upper grandstands (this would not be covered from the elements).
  • Priority will be given to outlets that will regularly cover Loyola athletics with consideration given to national media outlets. Unless space is available, one seat will be allotted to each media organization.

Photographer & Videographer Access
  • Per Patriot League regulations, only school-designated staff may be on the field during the game.
  • Non-Loyola photographers and videographers will be asked to shoot from an elevated position in the grandstands during the game. Videographers may use a tripod either on the concourse or in the stands area. No field access is allowed for outside media.

Credential Requests
  • All credentials will be given on a game-by-game basis, rather than on a season allotment.
  • Please request credentials at least 48 hours before game time.
  • Credential requests may be emailed to Ryan Eigenbrode (MLAX; rceigenbrode@loyola.edu) or Erik Pedersen (WLAX; eppedersen@loyola.edu).

Interviews
  • Interviews will be conducted via video or phone conference. This applies to interviews during the week and post-game.
  • Credentialed members of the media may make requests for interviews through the Loyola athletic communications staff.
