Beth Ann Legambi (Van Natta), a former letterwinner on Towson’s swimming and diving team, is entering her first season at Loyola as an assistant coach of the swimming and diving teams in 2021-22.
During her swim career at Towson, Legambi competed in the backstroke, freestyle and individual medley events. She earned a school record in the 200 IM, a pool record at Loyola in the 200 back and placed third in the 200 back at the East Coast Championships.
Legambi coached at Mariner Swim Club and Woodcroft Swim Club during her college years. Thereafter, she coached at Bel Air Aquatic Club (2006 – 2011) and Loyola Blakefield Aquatics (2017 – present) where she continues today working with the youngest swimmers. She was also a board member for LBA, serving from 2011-2021.
Legambi worked as a Registered Nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital (1991-1993), Franklin Square Medical Center (1993-1997), and Saint Joseph Medical Center (1997-2004). She worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with the premature and ill babies. From 2014-2020, she was employed at Mercy Medical Center as a case manager for the NICU.
Legambi swam several years for a club team (KCO) with Loyola head coach Brian Loeffler and was also coached at HAC by assistant coach George Kennedy from 1986-1987.
A 1991 Towson graduate, Legambi earned a B.S. degree in nursing. She additionally earned a M.S. in finance at Johns Hopkins University in 1996. Legambi and her husband, Frank, reside in Perry Hall. They have four children - Summer, Frankie, Brett (a current member of Loyola’s swim team) and Jamie.
