- Represented the Greyhounds at the Toyota U.S. Open Championships in Greensboro, N.C. on Dec 4-7, 2024; swam the butterfly leg on the third-place 200 medley relay quartet and reached the C Finals of the 100 yard fly
2024-25 (Sophomore): A two-time finalist at the Patriot League Championships… After qualifying in the seventh position, earned bronze with a personal top mark of 47.66 in the 100 butterfly… Finished seventh in the 50 freestyle (20.15), setting a personal best at 20.14 in the morning… Won the C Final in the 100 freestyle, setting an additional personal best at 44.88… Capped the year by swimming “exhibition” at the ECAC Open Championships
2023-24 (First Year): Produced an outstanding post-season meet at the ECAC Open Championships… Earned a podium with a second-place finish in the 100 butterfly, smashing his PR with a time of 47.71 (prelims) and a finals mark of 47.76… Placed sixth in the 50 freestyle with another top time of 20.39… Also recorded a personal best of 46.21 in the 100 freestyle in Annapolis… Edged by teammate Lane Bradshaw for first, but recorded another PR with a time of 1:57.00 in the 200 butterfly in the tri-meet vs. American and Colgate.
Before Loyola: Graduated from Towson High School where he competed in badminton, cross country and track and field… Swam for North Baltimore Aquatic Club where he had top times of 50.25 in the 100y butterfly, 21.37 in the 50y freestyle and 47.26 in the 100y freestyle as a senior in high school… On the track, reached the Baltimore County and regional championships in the 300-meter hurdles as a senior.
Personal: Son of Tracy and Anthony van Lierop… Has two younger sisters, Cecilia and Catherine.
