Extracollegiate Performances:

• Represented the Greyhounds at the Toyota U.S. Open Championships in Greensboro, N.C. on Dec 4-7, 2024, competing in the 500 freestyle. 

2025-26 (Sophomore): Loyola’s No. 3 swimmer behind Joe Hayburn and Jack Hathaway at the ECAC Open Championships… Earned two silvers (500 freestyle, 800 freestyle relay) and one bronze (200 medley relay)… Also a finalist (8th) in the 200 freestyle… Set personal bests in the 100 breaststroke (56.04) and 200 butterfly (1:49.12)… Finished 20th in scoring at the meet with 40 points… Pocketed two silvers (500 free, 800 free relay) and a bronze (200 free relay) at the H2ounds Invitational… Earned 64 points for the Greyhounds… Captured the 100 individual medley in the dual meet vs. Richmond, setting a PR in the process (51.44)… Placed third in the 200 freestyle at the Thomas Murphy Invitational, highlighting his 85-point effort… Won the 500 freestyle in the tri-meet with American and Lehigh and in the opener vs. Lafayette.

2024-25 (First Year): Saw action in both post-season competitions… Swam exhibition in ECAC Open Championships, but turned in a personal best time of 46.17 in the 100 freestyle… Reached the finals in all three events at the Patriot League Championships, with best finish of 16th occurring in the 200 freestyle… Placed second in both the 200 and 500 freestyle in the dual meet vs. Bucknell… Competed in the U.S. Time Trials and posted a PR in the 100 butterfly of 50.11… Qualified for Toyota U.S. Open Championships with a time of 4:27.03 in the 500 free at the H2ounds Invitational… Also set his top mark in the 200 freestyle (1:38.97, third) and amassed 92 points in that invitational… Won the 500 freestyle in the tri-meet vs. Lehigh and Colgate… Accumulated 90 points in the Thomas Murphy Invitational, highlighted by a second-place effort in the 400 IM… Captured his first collegiate race in the team’s season debut vs. American… Won the 500 freestyle and added a second-place effort in the 1000 free.     


Before Loyola: Holds four school records at Patrick Henry and earned the team’s Most Valuable Player Award in 2022 and 2024… Capped his career with a pair of silver medals in the 200 and 500 freestyle events in the 4A Virginia State Championships… Earned 2024 All America consideration in the 500 free… Led his team to regional titles in his junior and senior campaigns…Also earned four letters in volleyball and was part of four Virginia 4A state volleyball championship squads… Swam for Nova of Virginia, the 2021-24 SC and LC Virginia senior champions.
 
Personal: Son of Michele and Troy Bartz… Has two younger brothers, Ty and Tanner… A 2023 Scholastic All American.
