2021-22 (Junior): Posted a personal best in the 400 Free (5:27.34) at the USA Swimming World Series ... She also posted a season best in the 100 Back (1:29.31), and 100 Breast (1:40.44) ... Finished in 9th place in the 100 Breast that weekend ... Competed in only 4 meets during her junior season.

2020-21 (Sophomore): Recorded a personal-best time of 21:43.09 in the 1650 free, and added a season-best mark of 1:17.92 in the 100 back at Loyola’s season-ending Patriot League Challenge meet … 1650 free time was nearly a minute quicker than her previous PR established three weeks earlier at the April Pools Virtual Invitational … set season bests in the 200 free (2:36.44) and 500 free (6:19.53) at the virtual meet … raced at seven events overall during Loyola’s abbreviated spring season.

2019-20 (Freshman): Raced in the 100 free, 500 free and 100 backstroke at the ECAC Championships, posting season-best times in all three events … competed in all four strokes throughout the regular season … her background competing for the United States National Paralympic Team was featured by PressBox Sports in December. 

Before Loyola: Is a longtime member of the United States National Paralympic Team ... won four medals at the 2019 Parapan American Games, which took place in Lima, Peru, in August ... won gold in the mixed 4x100 free relay, took silver in the 400 free and earned bronze medals in the 100 breast and 100 back ... added a gold medal in the 400 free at the 2017 World Para Swimming Championships in Mexico ... totaled five medals overall at that competition ... took part in the 2016 Summer Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, placing eighth in the 100 back.

Personal: Daughter of Matt and Carmen Hermes ... has one brother, Logan, and one sister, Madeline ... had four emergency eye surgeries due to retina detachments, the result of Wagner Syndrome, at age eight ... is completely blind in the right eye and has limited vision in her left eye ... Hermes and her father began Shoes for the Souls as a small service project in 2009 ... the first year she collected and donated 365 pairs of new and used shoes to the Atlanta Mission, which serves homeless men, women and children ... the project has now collected and donated over 15,000 pairs of shoes to The Atlanta Mission.
