Extracollegiate Performances:

• Represented the Greyhounds at the Toyota U.S. Open Championships in Greensboro, N.C. on Dec 4-7; recorded the 15th-best time of 51 competitors in the 100 breaststroke (54.43).  

2024-25 (Junior):  Concluded his season by swimming the sprint freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke events at the ECAC Open Championships… A two-time finalist in the Patriot League Championships, placing fifth in the 100 and eighth in the 200 breaststroke events… Set personal bests in the prelims (53.70, 100; 1:59.31, 200) of those heats… Earned three podiums and 94 points at the H2ounds Invitational, earning silver in the 200 breaststroke and bronze in the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM… Won the 200 breaststroke in the dual meet vs. Lafayette.

2023-24 (Sophomore): Enjoyed a busy post-season, seeing action in both the Patriot League and ECAC Open Championships… Set a new personal mark in the 100 breaststroke, finishing in 54.30 in the prelims… Finished 11th and earned 16 points for the Greyhounds in the finals… Broke the 2-minute barrier for the first time ever in the 200 breaststroke, touching at 1:59.90 in the morning and compiling 15 more points with a 12th place effort in the finals… Recorded his third PR in the 200 IM (1:49.90) and totaled 37 points for the championships… Competed in the 50 and 200 freestyle events at ECAC Open Championships… Won the 200 breaststroke at the Loyola H2ounds Invitational and the 50 yard breaststroke vs. Mount St. Mary’s.

2022-23 (Freshman): Competed at the Patriot League Championships, where he posted personal bests in the 50 Free (21.43), 50 Breast (25.73), and in the 100 Breast (55.98) ... Finished in 13th place in the 100 Breast at the Patriot League championships ... Posted a personal best time in the 100 IM (54.16) in the meet against McDaniel. 

Before Loyola: Attended Archbishop Spalding High School, where he was a member of the water polo and swimming teams ... Finished in 3rd at the MIAA Championships in the 100 Breaststroke, finished in 3rd place in the 200 IM at National Catholic Championships, and set school records in the 100 Breast, 50 Free and 200 IM. 

Personal: Son of Cherylnn and John Venit ... Three siblings: David, Kelli and Jay.
