Loyola University Maryland Athletics

Before Loyola: Highly-regarded local swimmer who was a three-time finalist in the 2024 Speedo Sectionals in Buffalo… Earned a bronze in the 200 backstroke and placed fourth in the 100 back… A month earlier, earned four “A” finals appearances in the Maryland State Senior Championships… Earned Scholastic All American honors from 2023-25 and was the team’s Most Valuable and Most Improved Athlete in 2024… A junior nationals and U.S. Open qualifier for Annapolis Swim Club… Also lettered in golf and was that team’s Most Improved Athlete in 2023.
 
Personal: Son of Cristina and Florin Ciorna… Has an older sister, Alexandra, who competes in swimming at Long Island University… An honor roll student all four years at Severna Park and earned the school’s Presidential Award as a senior… Has volunteered at an animal shelter and interned at a law firm.
