- Competed in the BASA Summer LC Meet in the Bahamas in July, 2026, winning the 100 freestyle; also competed in Belgium and Bermuda over the summer and at the Winter Age Group Championships in Hamilton, Bermuda
2025-26 (First Year): Produced a promising initial campaign for the Greyhounds, setting seven personal bests across four different meets… Amassed 705.08 points… A three-time finalist at the ECAC Open Championships, setting PR’s in the 200 (1:38.89) and 500 freestyle (4:32.06) and the 200 butterfly (1:50.59)… Anchored the 400 medley relay team, which earned silver… Also won silver with the 800 free relay squad and bronze with the 400 free relay quartet… Picked up 35 points for Loyola… Won the 200 freestyle at the Johns Hopkins Invite… Set personal bests in the 100 (45.37, part of 400 free relay) and 1650 freestyle (16:11.57) events at the H2ounds Invitational… Posted PR in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.14) in the meet vs. Richmond… Debuted with a pair of third-place finishes in the 500 and 1000 freestyle events vs. Lafayette.
Before Loyola: Competed at the last three Carifta Aquatic Championships in Trinidad, representing Bermuda… An eight-time finalist and earned bronze medals in the 400 and 1500 freestyle events in March 2025… A two-time finalist in the 200 and 500 freestyle events at the 2024 Eastern Interscholastic Championships… Earned Mercersburg’s Harrison S. Glancy Award (outstanding team contributions) in 2024-25 and its Bruce F. Vanderveer Award in 2023-24.
Personal: Son of Marlene and Thomas Cechini… Has twin younger siblings, Gabriella and Joseph… Grandfather played football at Alfred University and great uncle played football at Syracuse… An honor roll student all four years at Mercersburg.
