2025-26 (Sophomore): Competed in three early meets… Saw action in relays vs. Richmond, American/Lehigh and Lafayette… Finished sixth in the 100 butterfly and 11th in 50 freestyle against AU/Lehigh… Produced a third-place finish (out of 10 swimmers) in the 100 fly in the season opener vs. Lafayette.
2024-25 (First Year): Competed in the sprint freestyle events and the 100 butterfly for the Greyhounds at the ECAC Open Championships… Reached three finals in the H2ounds Invitational in the same three events and totaled 40 points for Loyola… Best finish was a 12th place effort, swimming a season best 50.83 in the 100 butterfly… Debuted by touching in third place (of 12 swimmers) in the 100 freestyle (48.36) vs. American.
Before Loyola: Competed for the Naval Academy Aquatic Club and reached the finals in four events (50/100 freestyle, 50/100 butterfly) at the 2024 NABC Maryland State Senior Championships… Set personal bests in three of those four events at the February 2024 competition… Earned All-America honors and qualified for the Winter Junior Nationals… Finished fifth for NAAC in the 100 freestyle at the 2023 Maryland LSC Senior Championships.
Personal: Son of Amanda and Juan Tosoni… Has two older siblings, Josh and Rebecca… John competed in swimming at Seton Hall University… The vice president of the Physics club at Broadneck, a member of the Mathematics Honor Society and a math tutor.
