2025: Set four personal records in the indoor campaign… Opened the winter with a PR in the 600m, crossing the tape in 1:46.53 at the Holiday Classic… Set a new personal mile mark (5:37.10) at the Showdown at the Heights… Ran 3:08.71 to register a new career best in the 1000m at the Navy Select and capped the indoor season with a PR of 2:26.87 in the 800m at the Patriot League Championships.
In the outdoor campaign, anchored a Greyhound victory in the 4x800m in the George Mason Dalton Ebanks Invitational (9:34.91), besting quartets from Sacred Heart, VCU and Johns Hopkins… Set a personal best in the 1500m (5:06.78) at the JMU Invitational in April.
Before Loyola: Graduated from Oyster River High School where she competed in cross country and track and field... Had a PR of 19:53 in a 5k cross country race... Ran 2:27 in the 800m outdoors... Distance captain as a junior and senior... 12-season athlete award... Part of the 4x800m relay team that set a school record... Helped her cross country team go undefeated in Massachusetts as a senior in 2023... Won five team state titles across all three sports... Team was named the New Hampshire Cross Country Team of the Year in 2023... Team finished fourth at NXR as a senior.
Personal: Daughter of Patricia and Brian Banafato... Has two older sisters, Jessica and Melanie, and a younger brother, Brendan... Earned the Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award and the Teachers Guild Award in high school... Member of the National Honor Society.
