Box Score

Albany, N.Y. - Siena built a 3-0 first-half lead and held on to defeat Loyola's men's soccer team on a wet and windy day in Albany, N.Y. The Saints, who snapped Loyola's 14-match regular-season win streak against MAAC opponents, win 4-0, dropping the `Hounds to 3-1 in the conference this season.

The Saints took the early lead on Mike DeSimone's goal in the 16th minute when he one-timed Caio Silva's corner kick past keeper Justin Chelland. Siena scored twice more in the first half, first the 27th minute, then again in the 39th to take a commanding lead at the break.

Loyola continued to fight and even outshot the Saints in the second half, but could only muster three shots on goal in the highly physical match. Rade Kokovic, who had a team-high two shots in the game, had one shot-on-goal, as did Brian O'Connor and Frank Spanos.

Patrick Henry made three saves in the shutout for Siena, dropping Loyola to 5-7-1 this season. Chelland had four saves for the Greyhounds, who are now 3-1 in the MAAC.

Loyola will be back in action this Friday and Sunday, hosting Iona at 3 p.m. on Friday and Fairfield at noon on Sunday. The Sunday match with Fairfield will be broadcast live on Comcast's CN8.
