Annapolis, Md. - Freshman Michael Mulieri shot a 69 and junior Will Shriver posted an even-par 71 to help Loyola place third at the Navy Spring Invitational in Annapolis, Md. on Saturday afternoon. The Greyhounds shot a 292 and finished four strokes back of tournament champion Navy.

Mulieri, who's even par first round led the Greyhounds on Day One, fired his 69 to close the 36-hole event as medalist runner-up. The Loyola freshman led the field in Par 4 scoring with a two-under-par effort over the two days.

Shriver matched Mulieri's Day One 71 and finished the two rounds with a total score of 146. Sophomore Matt Bassler shot a 77 and placed 35th among all individuals with a tournament score of 151.

The Greyhounds ended the Invitational with all five scorers registering rounds in the 70's both days. Nick Brassill, who shot a 78 on Friday, came back with a 75 on Saturday and finished with a 153 - the same score as fellow sophomore Chris Derby.

Navy held on to win its own tournament with a final round 293 and two-day score of 582. MAAC foe Rider placed second, one stroke ahead of Loyola while George Washington and Pennsylvania rounded out the field's Top-5.

The Greyhounds now turn their focus and attention to the MAAC Championships in Orlando, Fla. next weekend. Loyola is three-time defending MAAC champion and will be looking for a fourth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament with the league's automatic bid.
