Tennis Drops A Pair At Manhattan

Flushing, N.Y. - The Loyola men's and women's tennis teams dropped a pair of conference matches to Manhattan at the U.S. Open in Flushing, N.Y. on Friday evening. The men, who fall to 7-9 overall, drop a 7-0 decision to the Jaspers, while the women, now 7-6 this season, fall 4-3.

For the Greyhounds, all three points came in women's singles competition. Stefanie Clay improved her season record at No. 4 singles to 6-1 this season while Mallory Tarca and Courtney Vanslooten each picked up their first conference victories of the year.

The Jaspers won both doubles' points, but the Greyhounds did capture the No. 3 doubles match on the women's side, with Meaghan McKenna and Laura Cuti winning 8-3.

Both the men and women will be in action this Saturday and Sunday, playing at Fairfield on Saturday and at Saint Peter's on Sunday.
