ORLANDO - Central Florida's Brianna Schooley scored her second goal of the night on a header with 1-minute, 32-seconds remaining, lifting the Golden Knights to a 3-2 non-conference victory over Loyola Friday night at the UCF Soccer Complex.
The match was delayed 45 minutes at the start due to a thunderstorm.
Loyola (2-5-2) took a 2-1 lead in the 64th minute when Colleen Kinealy took a loose ball on the right side of the field and drove a shot over the head of Central Florida's Jennifer Manis into the top-left corner of the goal.
Schooley, however, tied the score just over five minutes later when she took a pass from Yvonne George and lifted a shot into the top of the net.
She then broke the tie 88:28 into the game when she drove a header off a Arielle Orr corner kick into the goal.
Lea Day put the Greyhounds on the board in the 28th minute, scoring an unassisted goal from the left side to give Loyola a 1-0 advantage. George tied the game for the Golden Knights (5-2-2) less than three minutes before halftime, scoring off the rebound of a Kacie Horner shot.
The Greyhounds play their final non-conference match of the year when they return to Diane Geppi-Aikens Field on Sunday, September 30, at 2 p.m., against Bucknell.
