Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola men's and women's swimming and diving teams placed third in an extremely close and exciting final day of competition from the Mangione Aquatic Center. The men held a brief lead before being edged out by Marist and Rider, while on the women's side, the same three teams took first, second and third with Loyola posting 710 points.

The Loyola men posted big points in both the 200 Breast and 200 Fly, where they placed first and third. In the 200 Breast, it was freshman Matthew Fralinger who took gold in a time of 2:05.04, while Colin Chenet placed third in 2:06.59.

The Greyhounds would take the lead in Event 40 of the 42 Event meet when Ozzy Torres won the 200 Fly in 1:52.11. Teammate Tim Rowe finished third in 1:54.96 and Loyola led Rider, 708.5-699.5.

Despite a rally from Marist and Rider on the boards, Loyola would cap off the night and the championships with another relay title. Sam McQuaid, E.J. Verrico, Brad Reeser and Jacob Drannan swam a time of 3:06.57 to win the 400 Free Relay.

The Loyola women finished second in the 400 Free Relay as Caitlin Cassidy, Megan Royer, Emily Benton and Tori Kamauff swam a time of 3:33.33. The women, who finished less than four points out of second place, also had an individual title and few Top-3 finishes to highlight Day Three.

Freshman Kim Krzaczek claimed her second MAAC title of the championships with a first-place finish in the 200 Breast. Krzaczek swam a 2:26.81 en route to victory, as freshman teammate Kali Solack took third in 2:28.54.
