The Loyola University Maryland tennis teams competed at the Hampton Road Collegiate Invitational in Newport News, Va., Friday where juniors J. Pierce Norton and Kevin Zingler won the B2 Doubles Flight. The Greyhounds will continue with the singles portion of the tournament Saturday and Sunday.

Pierce Norton and Zingler defeated Norfolk State's Kent Austin and Christian Romanzini, 8-2, and defeated Martin Cedergvist and Ike Kiro of NJIT, 9-7.

In the C1 Doubles Flight, senior Patrick Glaessner and freshman Eric Michaelis defeated Norfolk State's Brian Bullock and Jon Sessom, 8-6.

On the women's side, sophomore Scarlett Hoy and senior Joy Johnson lost to Navy's Dy Das and Erin Snook, 8-3, in the B2 Doubles Consolation Flight.

In C2 Doubles Flight, freshman Sabrina Fedele and senior Andie Keyser-Baker lost in the semifinals of the consolation braket to Pittsburgh's Minh Evans and Karma Parbhu, 8-5.
