BALTIMORE, Md. - The Greyhounds fell to 4-2 on the season Wednesday afternoon, after being edged by George Mason on the Butler Courts. Loyola started off on top by clinching the doubles point but dropped two tough third sets in singles to go down 4-3 to the Patriots.

Keyan Sanai and J. Pierce Norton got Loyola off to a strong start with an 8-4 doubles win over Jorge Osuna and Kevin McMillin. Kevin Zingler and Ryan Fitzgerald fell 8-4 at No. 2 doubles to Greg Donabedian and David Leonard, but Matt McDaniel and Bobby Gorczakowski's 8-4 win over Sam Coster and Patrick Mulquin at No. 3 doubles earned the `Hounds a 1-0 advantage going into singles play.

Sanai was defeated at No. 1 singles, going down 6-4, 6-4 to Osuna. Norton was able to get a win on the board in No. 2 singles, defeating McMillen 7-6 (5), 6-1.

Mulquin won the third set against Zingler in the No. 3 singles spot, defeating him 6-1, 3-6, 6-2. McDaniel also fell in his singles tilt, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Gorczakowski earned Loyola's third and final point, taking down Arjun Sanghvi 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 in the No. 5 singles spot. Jamie Russo ended the day with a 6-4, 6-0 loss to Coster.

This weekend Loyola will open Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play against Nigara. Both teams will square off against the Purple Eagles at 1 p.m. on the Butler Courts.
