Men's Tennis Sweeps Goucher

TOWSON, Md. - The Greyhounds improved their record to 10-5 on the season with a shutout of Goucher Wednesday afternoon in Towson. Loyola went 9-0 to sweep the Division III Gophers in straight sets.

Loyola opened things up with an 8-1 by Keyan Sanai and J. Pierce Norton in No. 1 doubles over Michael Brooks and Billie Weiss. In No. 2 doubles, Matt McDaniel and Bobby Gorczakowski defeated Charlie Leonard and Steve Baum 8-2.

CJ Chomeau and Phil Vavelidis secure the doubles sweep with an 8-1 victory over Brett Blackman and Dave Hemelt.

Sanai then defeated Brooks 6-1, 6-1 in No. 1 singles to put the `Hounds ahead 4-0. Norton downed baum 6-2, 6-0 in No. 2 singles and McDaniel won the No. 3 tilt against Weiss 6-0, 6-0.

Gorczakowski overtook Leonard 6-0, 6-1 in No. 4 singles and Chomeau notched a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Daniel Csete in the No. 5 spot.

Vavelidis closed out with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Hemelt.
