Men's Tennis Falls, 5-2, To Wildcats

BALTIMORE - Villanova University swept all three doubles matches and had a 4-2 advantage in singles play to defeat the Loyola University Maryland men's tennis team, 5-2, on Sunday in non-conference action.

Dan D'Agostino and Connor Lisco were the lone winners for the Greyhounds. D'Agostino defeated Matt Colonnese, 6-3, 5-7, 10-8, in No. 5 singles, and Lisco prevailed, 3-6, 7-6 (5), 10-7 over Alexander Preve, in the No. 6 spot.

Thomas O'Brien beat Loyola's Keyan Sanai, 6-2, 6-4, in No. 1 singles, and David Shaheen defeated J. Pierce Norton, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 2. Kevin Zingler lost, 6-3, 6-3, to Trenton Alenick, and Bobby Gorczakowski was defeated by Ryan Peyton, 6-0, 6-2, in No. 3 and 4, respectively.

Alenick and O'Brien beat Norton and Zingler, 8-3, in No. 1 doubles, while Peyton and Shaneen blanked D'Agostino and Sanai, 8-0, in No. 2. John Drosick and Kyle Grandin topped Gorczakowski and Jamie Russo, 8-4, in No. 3.

Loyola's women are back in action on Monday when they host Manhattan at 3 p.m. in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action.
