ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Rain in the area forced Friday night's doubles action inside, but Loyola University Maryland's Rachel Janasek and Olivia Ott thrived on the court, advancing to the semifinals of the Bill & Sandra Moore Invitational at the U.S. Naval Academy.

The duo defeated Brooke Verdiglione and Nicole Lippens of Monmouth, 8-6, in the first round, and they then dispatched Navy's Erin Snook and Nicole Kaufman, 8-4, to reach the semifinals.

George Mason's Nani Lizana and Andrea Samlin dealt Janasek and Ott their first loss of the season, in their sixth match, 8-4, in the semifinals.

The other Greyhounds women's doubles pairs fell in first round action. Sabrina Fedele and Tiffany Ash were beaten by George Mason's Brooke Blackwell and Mary Davis, 8-5, while Liz Black and Rachel Bergeron lost to the Patriots' Sarah Zeluski and Ekaterina Desiantnikova, 8-3. Navy's Dye Das and Gabby Winter edged Judy Lite and Jackie Lionetta, 8-4.

Singles action will commence at the Naval Academy on Saturday morning.
