FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Loyola University Maryland men's and women's tennis teams both fell to Fairfield on Sunday afternoon in Fairfield, Conn. The men's side dropped a 6-1 decision to the Stags, while the women lost, 5-2.

Harrison Kunkel earned the lone point of the match for the men, defeating R.J. Mirabile at No. 6 singles in a three-set thriller, with Kunkel winning 7-5, 4-6, 12-10.

On the women's side, Rachel Janasek and Sabrina Fedele combined for an 8-6 doubles win, but the Stags would take the doubles point with wins in second and third doubles.

In singles action, Judy Lite and Jackie Lionetta each notched points for Loyola at No. 5 and No. 6 singles respectively. Lite picked-up a, 6-3, 6-1, win over Tori Pirrello at No. 5 singles, and Lionetta topped Emma Samson, 7-6 (6), 6-3.

The women's team will next compete at the MAAC Championships beginning on April 28. The Greyhounds will take on No. 2 seed Marist at noon at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, N.J.
