Greyhounds Grab Two Strong 6-1 Victories

BALTIMORE - The Loyola University Maryland men's and women's tennis teams had stand-out performances as both downed Coppin State, 6-1, on Monday at Butler Courts.

On the men's side, Jordan Kuchta and Greg Olesnycky clinched the doubles point for the Greyhounds with their 9-7 win over Coppin State's Reginald Robinson and Roderick Peyton. The pair was down two match points at 7-6 15-40.

In singles, Loyola took five of the six as Connor Pietral, Harrison Kunkel, Jordan Kuchta, Connor Lisco, and Greg Olesnycky all won their matches.

The men now improve to 4-0 in duals as they move on to Morgan State on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Butler Courts. The match is set to begin at 3 p.m.

On the women's side, Emily Hughes, Olivia Ott, Sabrina Fedele, and Tiffany Ash swept their opponents with 8-0 victories giving Loyola the early 1-0 lead on Coppin State.

Through singles, five Greyhounds - Megan Hahn, Haleigh Morgus, Olivia Ott, Meredith Dwyer, and Tiffany Ash - took their matches giving the women's team their first win for the spring schedule.

With their 6-1 win, the women's tennis team improve to 2-0 in duals. They are set to take on Morgan State on Thursday, Feb. 28, at Butler Courts. The match is set to begin at 3:15 p.m.
