Women's Tennis Falls To Towson In First Match Home

BALTIMORE -

The Loyola University Maryland women's tennis team fell to local rival, Towson University, Tuesday afternoon at Butler Courts, 6-1.

Starting out in doubles, the Tigers took the #1 against freshmen Haleigh Morgus and Emily Hughes in a hard fought battle, 8-3. #2 double partners Megan Hahn and Olivia Ott drew things even with a victory over Ariel Burke and Nani Lizana, 8-4. Towson took the early lead by sealing the doubles point in the #3 match with a 8-0 victory over Scarlett Hoy and Tiffany Ash.

In singles, Hahn tallied her 23rd singles victory with a 7-5, 6-2 defeat of Towson's Lizana. She leads the team in singles wins for the season.

The Tigers continued the momentum through the rest of the match stealing the next five matches. The loss for the Greyhounds moves their record to 12-5 for the season.

The women's team is back in action on Thursday, as Navy makes their way to Butler Courts. Start time is set for 3 p.m.
