Women's Tennis Edges Past Delaware State

BALTIMORE - The Loyola University Maryland women's tennis team edged by Delaware State University on Friday afternoon, 4-3, to extend their win streak to six matches.

In doubles, Haleigh Morgus and Emily Hughes competed in the #1 slot, pulling out the first win for the day over the Hornets, 8-1. Delaware State took the win in #3 doubles, but freshman Megan Hahn and sophomore Olivia Ott clinched the doubles point with an 8-5 victory over Delaware State's Maja Banas and Manna Sicic.

In singles, Hahn started the Greyhounds off in the #1 slot ending the match in two sets with a 6-2, 6-4 win. Morgus and Hughes sealed the deal for Loyola as they won in #2 and #3 singles, respectively. Morgus won 6-3, 6-2, and Hughes went 6-2, 6-3 for the victory.

The win moves the women's record to 10-2 for the season.

Loyola makes their way back home for their next match as they take on MAAC opponent Fairfield University on Sunday. Start time is set for 10 a.m.
