Flach Leads Golfers On Final Day Of Marshall Invitational

Freshman Connor Flach shot a 3-under 68 through the final round of play to lead the Loyola University Maryland golf team at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational at Guyan Golf and Country Club on Tuesday. Flach finished the three-round tournament in a tie for ninth place at 1-under 212, while the Greyhounds carded a team score of 12-over 864 to finish fifth.

Freshman Matt Oshrine was second for Loyola, finishing tied for 18th with an aggregate score of 3-over 216, while sophomore Jimmy Dengler and senior Brendan Lemp each carded a 5-over 218 to finish in a tie for 24th place.

Junior Brian McCormick finished in a tie for 80th after shooting a 6-over 77 today. He had a three-round total of 20-over 233.

Richmond won the team title with a 3-over 855, while Cincinnati and Eastern Kentucky finished tied for second at 6-over 858. Cleveland State was fourth, and two strokes ahead of the Greyhounds, with a 10-over 862.

Richmond's Danny Pizetoski took home medalist honors with a 6-under 207, while William & Mary's Alex Hicksand Marshall's Clarke Robinson were second at 5-under 208.

Loyola will return to the course on Monday, Sept. 23, when it heads to South Kent, Conn., for the two-day Hartford Hawks Invitational.
