American Downs Volleyball In Wednesday Night Match

BALTIMORE - American University sided out at a 70 percent clip Wednesday night and beat host Loyola University Maryland, 25-14, 25-15, 25-17, in Patriot League action at Reitz Arena.

Allison Cappellino had 10 kills and his .400 for the Eagles, leading three players who had seven or more kills.

Jane Lukas posted a match-high 13 kills, continuing her solid play of late. She has averaged 4.33 kills per set in the Greyhounds' last three matches, and she is averaging 4.23 per set in Patriot League play.

Mindy Maloney had a season-high six total blocks for the Greyhounds, combining with Kelly McShea for three. Lukas and Lauren Youngblood each had two blocks, and Danielle Hillman was in on one.

The Greyhounds are back in action with two in Reitz Arena this weekend, hosting Bucknell University on Saturday, Oct. 11, and Colgate University on Sunday, Oct. 12. Both matches are slated for 2 o'clock starts.
