TOWSON, Md. - Loyola University Maryland women's tennis split the six singles matches evenly with Towson University on Thursday afternoon, but the Tigers won the opening doubles point to take the match, 4-3.
Haleigh Morgus and Emily Hughes beat Towson's Lorena Ferrer and Cailey Easdale, 8-3, in the No. 3 doubles slot, but the Tigers scored wins in the first two pairs positions to take a 1-0 lead going into singles action.
Megan Hahn eased past Ayana Dow, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 for Loyola's first singles point, and Morgus topped Nani Lizana, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 2. Ania Krawiec used an extra point in the second set to get past Sophie Lesage, 6-4, 7-5, at No. 4 singles for the Greyhounds' third point.
Towson, however, used wins at No. 3, 5 and 6 to complete the victory.
