Golfers 18th After First Round Of Kiawah Classic

Kiawah Island, S.C. - The Loyola University Maryland golf team is in 18th place following the first round of the Kiawah Classic by Aramark on Sunday.

Sophomore Bennett Wisner led the Greyhounds with a 2-over 74, while junior Ethan Wall and sophomore Jeremy Wall sit tied for 52nd with a 3-over 75. Wisner is tied for 42nd overall.

Senior Jimmy Dengler is fourth on the team, and tied for 86th overall, after shooting a 6-over 78 today, while junior Connor Flach is one stroke back. Tied for 95th, Flach turned in a first-round score of 7-over 79.

As a team, the Greyhounds are 18th with a 14-over 302. Charleston Southern leads the team race with a 1-under 287. Virginia and Augusta University are tied for second at 1-over 289.

Loyola will return to action at 6:30 a.m. Monday morning for the second round.
