Golfers Share Lead With Maryland Entering Final Round At Kingsmill

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Loyola University Maryland men's golf team maintained a share of first place following the second round of the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate at the Kingsmill Resort River Course Monday.

Junior Jimmy Dengler led the Greyhounds throughout the day with a 1-over 71 to move into fourth place with a two-round score of 1-over 141. Sophomore Matt Oshrine also moved into the top five after carding a 2-over 72 today. Oshrine is tied for fifth place as five others also enter the third round with a 2-over 142.

Sophomore Connor Flach made the biggest improvement today, shaving four strokes off his first round score to move up 38 spots and into a tie for 43rd at 8-over 148. Senior Bart George and freshman Bennett Wisner are also tied for 43rd, as the duo shot 5-over 75 and 8-over 76 today. Flach hit a 2-over 72 through the day's round.

Entering tomorrow's final round, Loyola is tied with Maryland for the lead. The Terrapins shot 5-over 285 today to move up from fifth place, while the Greyhounds teamed for a score of 10-over 290 to hold on to a share of the lead. Both squads have two-round totals of 13-over 573 and hold a four-stroke advantage over Radford and Missouri (17-over 577), which are tied for third.

Individually, Old Dominion's Jamison Randall is atop the leaderboard as the only player under par, shooting 1-under 139. High Point's Jack Sides and Mississippi State's Ben Wood are tied for second with even 140s.

Loyola will take one last trip through the course Tuesday.
