Golfers Complete Second Round Of Loyola Intercollegiate

GOODYEAR, Ariz. - Junior Connor Flach led the Loyola University Maryland golf team on the second day of the Loyola Intercollegiate at the Palm Valley Golf Course Monday, shooting an even 72.

Through two rounds, senior Jimmy Dengler leads the Greyhounds with a 3-over 147, tying him for 50th overall, while junior Will Wears is second, and tied for 73rd overall at 7-over 151, after shooting a 2-over 74 today.

Junior Ethan Wall and sophomore Jeremy Wall are tied for 77th overall with a pair of 8-over 152s, while Flach is one stroke back, and tied for 84th overall, with a 9-over 153 after shooting an even 72 today.

Individually, sophomore Bennett Wisner is the highest ranked Greyhound, checking in tied for 42nd with a 2-over 146, shooting a pair of 1-over 73s through the two rounds, while sophomore Brendan Peel is tied with the Wall brothers for 77th.

As a team, Loyola improved one spot and into 15th. With a 20-over 596, the Greyhounds hold a one-stroke lead over Drake. Arkansas State took over the team lead with a 16-under 560, while James Madison is second at 14-under 562 and Indiana is third with a 12-under 564.

Loyola will conclude the tournament with the third and final round, a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m., Tuesday morning.
