Golfers Conclude Play At Shortened Hoosier Collegiate

COLUMBUS, Ind. - The Loyola University Maryland golf team finished in 11th place in the Hoosier Collegiate at Otter Creek Golf Club Sunday.

Sophomore Bennett Wisner led the Greyhounds through the 36-hole event, finishing tied for 18th with a 3-over 147.

Junior Ethan Wall was the second finisher for Loyola, as he was tied for 30th at 5-over 149, while his brother, sophomore Jeremy Wall, was two strokes back and tied for 42nd place.

Junior Connor Flach finished with a 9-over 153, placing him in a tie for 48th, and senior Jimmy Dengler was tied for 61st at 13-over 157.

Patrick Flavin, from Miami (OH), was the individual champion, shooting 4-under 140, while Xavier's Jose Montano, Cincinnati's Emerson Newson and Purdue's Luis Fernando Barco all shot 3-under 141 to finish tied for second.

Purdue and Miami (OH) were the team co-champions, carding team scores of 2-over 578, while Xavier was third at 4-over 580. Loyola came in 11th with a team score of 24-over 600.

The Greyhounds will return to action Saturday when they travel to Raleigh, North Carolina, for the two-day Wolfpack Spring Open.
