Game Notes
• This mark's the 14th meeting between Georgetown and Loyola in women's basketball.
• The Greyhounds, in the midst of a three-game season-opening road swing, are looking for their first win of the 2018-19 campaign.
Loyola Greyhounds (0-2, 0-0 Patriot League)
• The Greyhounds return all five starters from the 2017-18 campaign and also get graduate student Bri Betz-White, a first-team All-Patriot League performer in 2016-17, back after a season-ending injury held her out of last year.
• Betz-White and Isabella Therien, the 2017-18 Patriot League Rookie of the Year, lead the Greyhounds with 9.0 points per game this season, while freshman Taleah Dixon is averaging 6.0 per game.
• Defensively, junior Stephanie Karcz, the 2017-18 Patriot League Defensive Player of hte Year and first-team All-League honoree, leads the Patriot League and is tied for fifth in the NCAA with 16.0 rebounds per game this season. Karcz also leads the team with eight steals, a total that's tied for 25th in the country, and six assists.
Georgetown Hoyas (2-0, 0-0 BIG EAST)
• The Hoyas are coming off a pair of wins, earning a 73-53 victory in the season-opener at Richmond. Georgetown then knocked off UMES, 74-55, in its home opener.
• Dorothy Adomako leads the Hoyas in scoring this season, averaging 16.0 points per game, while Mikayla Venson is averaging 14.0 and Nikola Kovacikova is at 11.5 points.
• Dionna White and Anita Kelava have eached pulled down 14 boards this season for a team-best 7.0 rebounds per game average, and Adomako is close behind with 13 rebounds.
Series History
• This will be Loyola's first trip to Georgetown since the 2014-15 season, and just the Greyhounds' second in the last 15 years, as prior to 2014, the two squads hadn't met since 2003.
• The Hoyas are on a nine-game win streak against Loyola, with the Greyhounds' last win coming during hte 1978-79 season.
• Georgetown won the inaugural meeting, 47-41, in the 1973-74 season, before Loyola won three-straight from 1976-79. The Hoyas have won the nine meetings since then, though.
