BALTIMORE - The 23rd-ranked Loyola University Maryland men's soccer team fell short of its quest for the program's first-ever Patriot League Championship Friday night, as the Army West Point Black Knights escaped Ridley Athletic Complex with a 1-0 win in the semifinal round.

Keenan O'Shea scored the game-winner in the 82nd minute, heading in a cross from Oscar Pereira.

For the game, Loyola held an advantage in shots, 10-7, and corner kicks, 12-0.

The first-half opportunities started in the second minute for the Greyhounds when
Brian Saramago sent a one-touch through ball to
Josh Fawole, but his shot was saved by Army goalkeeper Justin Stoll.

Stephen Nichols then missed finishing a combo play shot in the third minute with his shot going just wide of the goal post.Â

In the 22nd minute,
Davey Mason played a ball forward to Fawole, but Fawole's header landed in the hands of the goalkeeper.

Jake Dengler had Greyhounds' best look in the second half, heading down a free kick from
Gabriel Carlsson in the 54th minute. The Army goalkeeper made a diving save to push it wide of the post, though.

Chase Vosvick finished the game with two saves in goal for the Greyhounds.
With the loss, Loyola concludes its season with an overall record of 12-5-1, including a 7-1-1 mark in Patriot League play, and its second-straight Patriot League regular-season title.
