LEWISBURG, Pa. - Loyola University Maryland cut Bucknell University's lead to six with 2:06 left in the first half, but the Bison scored nine of the half's final 11 points, and the Bison went on to a 94-53 victory Wednesday night in Patriot League action at Sojka Pavilion.
Bucknell had been up by as many as 13 midway through the first half, but an Andre Walker 3-pointer started a 12-7 Loyola run that saw it get within six, 35-29, on an Andrew Kostecka free throw.
The Bison, however, came back with a basket in the paint by Nana Foulland and a Nate Jones three to push back up by 11. Stephen Brown scored in the lane as part of his game-high 20 points with less than 40 seconds to go, and it was a 13-point advantage, but Isaiah Hart converted on a drive with 5.1 ticks left in the stanza to pull the Greyhounds within 11.
Brown, however, was fouled with 1.1 on the first-half clock, and he made two free throws to send the teams to the locker room with Bucknell in front, 44-31.
The Bison came out of halftime and scored the first 10 points to go up 54-31 on a Foulland basket with 16:08 left in regulation.
Foulland was one of four Bison in double-figures with 15 points. Nate Sestina added 18, while Zach Thomas had 12.
Hart led Loyola with 12 points and four assists, and Andrew Kostecka tallied 10. Cam Gregory posted a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Greyhounds continue Patriot League action on Sunday, February 17, when they host Colgate University at 2 p.m. in Reitz Arena.
