New Season
• Loyola was picked to finish third in the 2018-19 Patriot League Preseason Poll with 129 points and four first-place votes.
• The Greyhounds are coming off a 2017-18 season in which they went 7-11 in League play and secured the No. 6 seed in the Patriot League Tournament. Loyola earned a first-round bye, but fell to third-seeded Navy, 63-55, in the quarterfinal round.
• Loyola returns its entire starting lineup and 93.3 percent of its scoring from last year. It also gets 2016-17 All-Patriot League First Team guard Bri Betz-White back after an injury year.
• The Greyhounds also welcome back 2017-18 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year Stephanie Karcz and 2017-18 Patriot League Rookie of the Year Isabella Therien.
• Karcz was also named to the five-member 2018-19 Preseason All-Patriot League Team.
Loyola Greyhounds (1-13, 0-3 Patriot League)
• Stephanie Karcz leads the team in rebounding, steals and assists this season. Her 11.1 rebounds per game ranks fourth in the League, while her 61 steals leads the League and her 45 assists are tied for third. She's also second in the NCAA in steals per game (4.36).
• In scoring, sophomore Isabella Therien leads the squad with 11.5 points per game, while redshirt senior Bri Betz-White is second on the team with 9.6 points per game.
• In conference only games, freshman Taleah Dixon leads the team with 13.0 points per game, while Therien is second at 11.7 points per game. Karcz is averaging a double-double of 10.7 points and a League-best 16.0 rebounds per game in League play.
Holy Cross Crusaders (8-6, 0-3 Patriot League)
• Holy Cross is looking for its first League win, as the Crusaders have fallen to Colgate, 70-67, at Lafayette, 73-63, and at Lehigh, 64-55.
• Lauren Manis, the Preseason Patriot League Player of the Year, leads the League with 19.7 points per game and is second with 12.0 rebounds per contest.
• Megan Swords has the hot-hand for the Crusaders, connecting of 50.7 percent of shots taken, while Madalyn Smith is second in the League in assists, dishing out 55.
• From long range, Holy Cross looks to Kathryn Pedi, who has knocked down 33 3-pointers.
Series History
• Loyola swept last season's meetings to pull ahead 7-5 in the all-time series against Holy Cross.
• The Greyhounds have won six of the last eight meetings, including the last three.
• Loyola has won the last four meetings in Worcester, Massachusetts, and is 4-2 against the Crusaders when playing at Holy Cross.
