BALTIMORE – After earning a draw against the No. 2 team in the country on Tuesday, Loyola University Maryland men's soccer returns to Patriot League play with a Homecoming weekend matchup against Holy Cross.

The Greyhounds can clinch their fourth-straight Patriot League tournament appearance with a win and a Boston U loss or tie vs. Navy. Loyola would also get in with a tie, a BU loss and a loss or tie by both Army West Point and Colgate.

Last Time Out

  • Eddy Rodriguez set up Josh Fawole for a highlight-reel game-tying goal with 12 seconds left in regulation, as Loyola secured a 1-1 draw at No. 2 Wake Forest.
  • Fawole's goal, a sliding half-volley which was directed in just under the crossbar, was featured on Sports Center's Top 10 plays for Tuesday, coming in at No. 6 overall.
  • Loyola finished with a 6-4 edge in shots on goal, preventing Wake Forest (12-2-1) from recording a shot on target over the final 77 minutes of game action.
  • Wake Forest entered the contest with a 9-0 home record on the year, outscoring opponents by a 25-4 margin during that stretch.
  • The Greyhounds improve to 2-3-1 this season against teams which qualified for the 2018 national tournament.

Series History

  • Loyola and Holy Cross have each earned three victories during the first six meetings between the two programs.
  • The Greyhounds have won each of the last three contests, with a 107th minute goal by Josh Fawole clinching a 3-2 double overtime victory in last year's meeting at Holy Cross.
  • Loyola came back from a 2-0 deficit in that matchup, as Fawole and Barry Sharifi scored in regulation to force OT.
  • Holy Cross was the only team to score multiple goals against Loyola GK Chase Vosvick last season.

About the Crusaders

  • Holy Cross (3-11, 1-5) has dropped three-straight Patriot League games, including a 6-1 defeat at Army West Point last Sunday. The Crusaders' lone league victory was a 1-0 triumph at Boston University on Oct. 2.
  • All three Crusader victories have come on the road; they are 0-7 at home this season.
  • Max Krause and Dylan Scanley have four goals each, combining to score eight of the team's 13 goals on the year.
  • Holy Cross has been outscored 36-13 this season, giving up 3+ goals in seven of its 11 defeats.
Senior Day
  • Loyola seniors Nico Brown, Matt Dabrowski, Josh Fawole, Morgan Lussi, Davey Mason, Brian Saramago and Barry Sharifi will be recognized in a pregame ceremony for their contributions to the program.
  • The seven seniors have totaled two Patriot League regular season championships and 38 victories, including a 24-8-3 record against conference opponents, after joining a team which was 2-13-1 (0-8-1) in the year prior to their arrival.
October Turnaround
  • After entering October with an overall record of 2-6-0, Loyola has posted a 5-1-1 mark through its first seven games this month, outscoring opponents 16-8 during that stretch.
  • Josh Fawole (4 G, 1 A) and Brian Saramago (2 G, 5 A) have led the offense with nine points apiece this month, with Barry Sharifi (3 G, 2 A), Justin Ingram (2 G, 2 A) and Jonathan Sousa (2 GWG) also key October contributors.

  • The Greyhounds are 4-1 at home this season, including a 4-1 victory over NJIT in their most-recent contest on Oct. 15.
  • Loyola has scored 14 goals in its first five games at Ridley this season.
