COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Shakira Austin totaled 25 points and 13 rebounds, while Taylor Mikesell and Stephanie Jones scored 20 points apiece in a 105-45 victory for No. 9 Maryland over Loyola University Maryland women's basketball on Sunday.
Stephanie Karcz paced the Greyhounds (1-8) with 12 points, seven steals, six rebounds and four assists. The Division I leader in steals per game has now recorded 6+ thefts in seven-consecutive games. Sisters

Ava Therien each added eight points off the bench, with Ava connecting on 4 of 5 field goal attempts.
The Terrapins (8-2) shot 56.9 percent from the field and scored 30 points off 25 turnovers. Mikesell was hot throughout the game from long distance, hitting 6 of 11 attempts from 3-point range, and Austin was successful on 11 of 13 field goal attempts for the home side.
Bri Rozzi completed a 3-point play in the closing seconds of the first quarter, as Loyola trailed just 20-10 through the opening 10 minutes. Maryland, though, scored 22 of the first 24 points of the second quarter to break the game open and secure a 20th straight win in the series.
Six of
Ava Therien's eight points came in the fourth quarter, helping Loyola start the frame on a 13-7 run. She is now shooting 61.4% (27-44) on the year overall.
Karcz, meanwhile, led the team in points, rebounds and assists for a second time this season. She now ranks No. 20 all-time at Loyola in scoring (1,028 points) and she moved ahead of former teammate
Bri Betz-White into seventh place all-time in career assists (324).
The Greyhounds now have an extended break for final exams. They will return to Reitz Arena for a 1 p.m. matchup against Monmouth on Friday, Dec. 20.
