Game Notes
• Loyola and Syracuse are both coming top-five wins, as the Greyhounds upset No. 5 Florida, 15-12, in their home opener on Saturday and the Orange knocked off No. 4 Northwestern in overtime, 15-14, in the Carrier Dome on Sunday.
• The two squads are former conference rivals, as both were in the BIG EAST from 2006-13. While Syracuse held a 7-3 advantage during that time, two of Loyola's wins came in the BIG EAST Tournament, including 2012 when the Greyhounds used a 13-7 win at the Carrier Dome to capture a second-straight BIG EAST title.

Loyola Greyhounds (1-1, 0-0 Patriot League)
• Only one school in the country returns more points than the Greyhounds in 2019, as Jacksonville brings back 415 of its 559 points from the 2018 season. In graduating 153 points from last season, Loyola brings back 375 of its 528 points.
Livy Rosenzweig returns for her sophomore season after leading the Greyhounds with 55 goals, 47 assists and 102 points. Her 102 points broke Grace Gavin single-season record of 98 points, set in 2011, while she also became the first Greyhound - male or female - to break 100 points in a single season.
• Rosenzweig owns Loyola's freshman records for points (102), assists (47) and draw controls (89), and the program record for assists in a single game (8, at Colgate).
• Nationally, Rosenzweig was the top-ranked freshman in the NCAA in assists and points last year, while she was one of three freshmen to earn All-America honors.
• Senior Hannah Powers, the 2018 Patriot League Attacker of the Year, returns after ranking second on the team with 48 goals, 30 assists and 78 points.
• Senior Taylor VanThof enters her final season chasing the program's career record for draw controls, which is held by her older sister, Taryn ('15), at 318. Coming off a season in which she won 119 draw controls, VanThof became the third player in Patriot League history, and the first at Loyola, to reach 100 draws in multiple seasons. She has 293 throughout her career.
• Defensively, senior Kristen Yanchoris returns after earning Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women's lacrosse and Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year. She finished last season with 25 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers.
• In goal, senior Kady Glynn returns after posting a 10.85 goals-against average and a .483 save percentage, totals that ranked 30th and 22nd in the NCAA, respectively.

Through Two Games
• Loyola is coming off its first-ever win over Florida and its first win over a top-5 team since knocking off No. 3 Syracuse, 9-8, at SU Soccer Complex on May 2, 2015.
• Three Greyhounds - Hannah Powers (4 goals, 3 assists) and Sam Fiedler (5g, 2a) and Livy Rosenzweig (5g, 2a)  - have seven points this season, while Elli Kluegel has a team-best six goals this year.
Lindsey Ehrhardt leads the defense with seven ground balls and five caused turnovers, while Kady Glynn is allowing 12.5 goals per game and is stopping 41.9 percent of shots faced.

Syracuse Orange (4-1, 0-0 Atlantic Coast Conference)
• Emily Hawryschuk leads the Orange with 14 goals and 20 points this year, while Nicole Levy is second with 18 points on nine goals and a team-best nine assists.
• Meaghan Tyrrell (9g, 5a) is third on the team with 14 points, and Sam Swart is fourth in points, with 11, and second in goals, with 10.
• Hawryschuk, who scored the Orange's game-winning goal against Northwestern, also leads the team in draw controls, winning 14 this season.
• Sarah Cooper leads the defense with 10 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers.
• In goal, Asa Goldstock has posted a 8.34 goals-against average and .429 save percentage in 259 minutes.

Series History
• In a series that dates back to 2003, Syracuse owns a 13-6 advantage against its former BIG EAST rival, as the two were members of the conference from 2006-13.
• Despite the seven-game lead in the all-time series, Syracuse only holds a 3.2 goals per game advantage over the Greyhounds, as six games were one-goal affairs and three required overtime to determine a winner.
• Of the 19 meetings, the higher ranked team has been victorious 14 times, with five upsets.
• The Orange's first upset was in 2011; a 10-9 win for then-No. 12 Cuse vs. No. 7 Loyola, before 14th-ranked Syracuse escaped Ridley Athletic Complex with a 12-11 win in over No. 9 Loyola last year.
• Syracuse has won the last four games, with Loyola's last win in the 2015 regular-season finale. The 16th-ranked Patriot League Champs upset the No. 3 ranked ACC Champs, 9-8, at SU Soccer Field.
• The Orange avenged that season's loss by eliminating the Greyhounds from that year's NCAA Tournament with a 10-7 quarterfinal win 14 days later in the Carrier Dome

Up Next
• The Greyhounds return to Baltimore to host No. 8 Penn State on Saturday at noon. The game will be the third-straight against a top-10 opponent for Loyola.
