Top Competition
• Wednesday's contest at Virginia will mark Loyola's sixth-straight against a nationally ranked opponent. The Greyhounds are 3-2 against ranked foes this season, beating a pair of top-10 competition at home - No. 5 Florida and No. 8 Penn State - and then No. 25 Towson on the road after falling at No. 23 Johns Hopkins and No. 4 Syracuse.
• Loyola is looking for its third-straight win, as it's coming off a 13-8 win over No. 8 Penn State on Saturday, March 2 and a 12-6 victory at No. 25 Towson last Wednesday.
• The Greyhounds enter this week ranked 10th nationally, while Virginia is at No. 5.
• In the all-time series with the Cavaliers, the underdog has been victorious through 21 of the 29 meetings since national rankings were incorporated in 1989.

National Rankings
• Loyola's trio of Patriot League weekly award winners - attacker Livy Rosenzweig, defender Lindsey Ehrhardt and goalkeeper Kady Glynn - are among the NCAA leaders in goals, assists, points, caused turnovers, saves and save percentage. 
• With 5.40 points per game, Rosenzweig ranks tied for ninth nationally, while her 3.20 goals per game is tied for 30th and her 2.20 assists per game is tied for 18th.
• Ehrhardt is tied for ninth in the NCAA in caused turnovers per game, at 2.60.
• Glynn is 11th in save percentage (.514) and tied for 15th in saves per game (10.80).
• As a team, the Greyhounds are tied for 16th in assists per game (7.00), tied for 31st in points per game (19.40) and 20th in shot percentage (.459). Defensively, Loyola is 18th in save percentage (.505). 

Loyola Greyhounds (3-2, 0-0 Patriot League)
• Only one school in the country returned more points than the Greyhounds in 2019, as Jacksonville brought back 415 of its 559 points from the 2018 season. In graduating 153 points from last season, Loyola brings back 375 of its 528 points. 
Livy Rosenzweig, coming off a school-record 102 point freshman season, leads the Greyhounds with 27 points on a team-best 16 goals and 11 assists. Voted the Preseason Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year, Rosenzweig has already recorded 5-or-more points through four games, including an 8-point outing (4g, 4a) at No. 4 Syracuse and a 7-point performance (4g, 3a) at No. 25 Towson.
• Senior Hannah Powers is second on the team with 13 goals, eight assists and 21 points, and sports a team-best 40-game point streak.  
• Loyola's starting midfield unit of sophomore Sam Fiedler (10g, 5a), sophomore Elli Kluegel (8g, 1a) and senior Taylor VanThof (5g, 4a) have combined for 33 points.
• On the draw, VanThof leads the way with 21 wins, while Rosenzweig has 18 and Powers has grabbed 17. 
• Senior Lindsey Ehrhardt has a team-best 13 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers. 
• In goal, senior Kady Glynn has posted three double-digit save performances to get the Greyhounds three wins over top-10 foes. Against No. 5 Florida, she turned back 11 shots, while she earned 12 saves against No. 8 Penn State. At No. 25 Towson, she recorded a season-best 15 saves, just three shy of her career high.

Virginia Cavaliers (6-2, 0-2 ACC)
• Virginia is coming off of a last-minute 13-12 loss at No. 3 North Carolina on Saturday.
• Maggie Jackson leads the Cavaliers with 18 assists and 33 points this year, while Avery Shoemaker has a team-best 23 goals. 
• Sammy Mueller is third on the team in points (28) and goal (19), while she also leads the squad with 26 ground balls. 
• In goal, Charlie Campbell has played 460 minutes. She's allowed 75 goals and has stopped 62 shots for a 9.79 goals-against average and a .453 save percentage. 

Series History
• The two storied programs played every year from 1981-2005 before taking  a three-year hiatus. Since resuming play in 2009, games have been played on four different fields - Loyola's DGA Field and Ridley Athletic Complex, and Virginia's UHall turf field and Klöckner Stadium.
• Of the 29 meetings since incorporating national rankings in 1989, 21 have been won by the underdog, including eight of the last nine games. 
• When playing in Charlottesville, Loyola is 6-12-1, but the Greyhounds are 5-3 when playing as the underdog in Virginia, including winning the last four upset opportunities that they had; in 1999, 2010, 2014 and 2015.

• Loyola will head to undefeated Army West Point on Saturday for its Patriot League opener. Opening draw is slated for 1 p.m. at Michie Stadium.
