BALTIMORE - The 10th-ranked Loyola University Maryland women's lacrosse team used an 18-9 win over Colgate on Senior Day at Ridley Athletic Complex Saturday to clinch the top-seed and home field advantage for the upcoming Patriot League Championships.

With the win, the Greyhounds move to 12-4 on the season, 8-0 in the Patriot League and 8-0 at home this season, Loyola's first undefeated regular-season at home since moving to Ridley Athletic Complex in 2010. The eight-straight wins also ties the program's longest win streak on Awalt Field.

Senior Hannah Powers led all players with five goals and seven points in the game, while sophomore Livy Rosenzweig added a game-high five assists. Senior Emily Cooper finished with a career-high four goals, marking her fourth hat trick of the season, and sophomore Sam Fiedler tacked on two goals and two assists for four points.

Seniors Amanda Ignacio and Taylor VanThof also scored twice, while junior Caitlyn Gunn, sophomore Emily Beier and freshman Jillian Wilson added one goal each. Sophomore Elli Kluegel and freshman Leah Daly rounded out the scoring with one assist apiece.

Defensively, senior Lindsey Ehrhardt and Fiedler finished with three ground balls, while VanThof won six draw controls. Ehrhardt, Fiedler and VanThof all finished with two caused turnovers.

In goal, senior Kady Glynn played the first 51 minutes and posted nine saves while allowing seven goals. Sophomore Kaitlyn Larsson played the final nine minutes and stopped two shots.

For Colgate (6-9 overall, 4-4 Patriot League), Tara Atkinson scored three times, while Lindsay West and Noelle Patterson had two goals each.

The Greyhounds rattled off the first six goals of the game before Colgate scored on a free position at 15:38. Powers scored first, followed by a pair of goals from Cooper within 36 seconds; the first assisted by Powers and the second by Rosenzweig. Rosenzweig then assisted Fiedler, before Ignacio finished a pass from Kluegel. Fiedler's assist to Cooper got Cooper her fourth hat trick of the season at the 19:41 mark and the Greyhounds the 6-0 advantage.

Ignacio answered Colgate's first goal, finishing an assist by Rosenzweig, to push the Greyhounds ahead 7-1, but the Raiders went on to score three of the next five goals to cut Loyola's lead to five, 9-4, at halftime.

Cooper, Wilson and Powers scored out of the break to push Loyola ahead 12-4, but Colgate answered with back-to-back goals to move the score to 12-6 at the 22:57 mark.

Powers kept the Raiders from scoring a third-straight by scoring consecutive goals and then dished out an assist to VanThof at 11:20 to stretch Loyola's lead to nine, at 15-6.

Fiedler and Beier answered Colgate's next two goals and then Daly assisted Gunn to close out the scoring in the game.

Loyola will close out the regular season with a game at Holy Cross on Friday at 4 p.m., before returning home to host the semifinals and championship game of the Patriot League Championships. The semifinals are set for Thursday, May 2 and Saturday, May 4.
